Education
In most college music programs students have an opportunity to play in chamber ensembles. This intimate setting for learning and making music teaches students to be acutely aware of certain fundamentals of musicianship. As an educational tool, chamber music creates an excellent balance between solo playing and large ensemble. As in large ensembles, students get the benefit of playing with others and being required to blend, tune, and play in time with like instruments. With chamber music, students get the added benefit of "one on a part" playing, which requires them to build the confidence necessary for such playing.
CMS-NJ offers a variety of events for your school's instrumental music program. Concerts, masterclasses, lectures, and residencies are all offered as part of our educational outreach.
